Our president, Toñi Gallego, has participated in the I Rural Immersion against the Depopulation Campus organized by the Provincial Council of Malaga and the Malaga University. This activity tries to make young university students aware of the opportunities for employment and entrepreneurship in Málaga rural areas with the desire to combat depopulation in the towns of Malaga.
Cicerones Rurales has counted its experience as a model of employment generation around the creation of sustainable tourism experiences. Our project, which was born in 2017 as a Gastronomic Tourism course, has trained in three years 250 young people, of whom 15% have created their entrepreneurship project with sustainable tourism models. Also, Gallego delved into the different models of sustainable tourism promoted by Cicerones Rurales in the province of Malaga, from gastronomic to wellness, through active or cultural tourism.
To conclude, Gallego reported the latest news about the association, which thanks to La Noria and the Obra Social La Caixa, will develop in 2021 the project Verea, also intended for university students and recent graduates to see entrepreneurship opportunities in the area of the Axarquia and the Serranía de Ronda.
This activity is promoted by the Delegation of Social Innovation and Depopulation of the Council of Malaga together with the Vice-rectorate of Business, Territory, and Digital Transformation of the University of Malaga and the General Foundation of the UMA.
